Hi guys! Sorry this is late (again) Hope you enjoy!

Why hello there!

Pictures start two weeks ago, around Friday. As it is our customary thing to get out of work and go to lunch we do so at El Rancho!!!

The food there is very good. Its no On the Border but its the best we've got in the way of Mexican. They also have the tables where there are beer cap pictures. It cracks me up every time.

After that we went to the grocery store and saw this. I said a little prayer for the education system in Alabama. We ar SMART!!!!

I don't know if you can see it but there is a tiny puppy riding on this woman's shoulder. This is a very big thing down here I guess. Puppies do not = Parrots. Sry 2 Say.

Then we laugh at this. The roof and trunk had rainbow sparkles in the paint. We would have taken a picture of that too but we were all askeerd that the driver would come out.

So we shop and come out and Ged about screams like a girl at the sight of this cherry M6. FLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

After he drools over it for much too long we head home and there are packages waiting for me. ZOMG PRESENTZZZZZZZZZZ!!! Its le Creuset from Stephteph!!!!! It was way the awesome!!!!! Thanks again dude!!! Later I get a package from D that had the hugest and heaviest book that I now own in it. The Encyclopedia of Garden Plants and I weep. But I'm so excited to sit down and read it that I forget to photodocument my yaying. THANKS DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!

So since we're in Alabama I decided to make that weekend "Birthday Weekend". So Saturday morning we're off again. As per usual on a Saturday morning sojourn, we stop at Sonic.

Yum.

Double yum.

Not sure why but they've given us 97 picante sauces. Could they tell that we are two berry hot and spicy people? Okay that was dumb I know.

Thanks Sonic, it is muchly appreciated!

Dude our luck with cars this week is just too good. On the way to our destination we pass this. An effing Lotus Elise on the lot at a dealership. However it is flaming pumpkin orange. If it had been black I'd have thrown myself on the hood.

Good Samaritan FTW!

Something about this sign makes me die of the funny.

We decide to make a pitstop at the Flea Market to see what they've got and ZOMG GED DIES ON THE SPOT!!!! MCLAREN SLR!!!!!

A general haha from the flea market. Who would buy this?

We were walking behind these people and Ged was like "Wonder if he's selling..." I died of laughter.

See toldja so.

So the one thing that I told Ged when I realized I'd be spending my birthday in Alabama was that I wanted to go to the beach and put my feet in the water. Putting my tootsies in the water in mid-November up north might result in hypothermia. But here the water was maybe 60 or 70 degrees. Too cool to go swimming on a breezy day but just fine for standing in for a few minutes.

It really was a gorgeous day.

Somebody had either gotten married earlier or was about to. Very pretty and this is a good beach to do it. Peaceful and clean.

This section of the beach said no tresspassing. I thought it was cute that there were a bunch of bird tracks. They say eff the man.

Hi guys!

This mo fo is a long ass way from home.

Katrina is still ever present in the area. I love this boat. One of these times I wanna go down there and stand out on the part thats in the water.

Okay so we drive by this place all the time and never stop. Today is that day. I took this to show you the sheer hugeness of it. That is Ged btw.

Now this place was amazing. The prices were fair and it was full to the gills. This section is for you Jay.

Ged said #1000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TAKE A PICTURE OF THAT TO SHOW JAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!

Just so you can see how high these were stacked. Keep in mind that Ged is 6'3"

Oh and this multi pack was huge. I'm 5'8"

Look at that face. Its like a kid at Christmas! I believe he was saying HOLY SHIT THATS A LOT OF FIREWORKS!!! We've been trying to figure out a way to get them home to us in MA but I don't think you can ship fireworks. Can you?

After that its Sushi Saturday! Before...

After!

Ged might be happier about Birthday weekend that I was. Fireworks AND Sushi in the same day??!?!?!

I did get a great birthday card from D on Saturday that I did take a picture of. It cracked me up.

Sunday morning, my actual birthday, I decide that I want Krispy Kreme. Ged being the fabulous boyfriend that he is ran all the way across the bay to get some for me. Love!

Happy Birthday Mama!

So between breakfast and dinner we hung out, relaxed, read, watched movies. Took a nap. It was great. After that we headed out for birthday dinner to California Dreaming. It is amazing. They have fresh baked croissants with honey drizzled over the top.

I swear they marinade their chicken in juices from heaven. I have no idea what is in it but it is the most delicious chicken ever. I get their Dreaming Sandwich. Basically UBERAWESOME Chicken, bacon, monterey jack cheese, lettuce and tomatoes on a french bread. With fries of course.

Ged gets the Knob Hill Chicken which is chicken thighs in the same marinade topped with ham and cheese. Obvs, fries.

Then the best part. They have cheesecake shipped in from Carnegie Deli in New York DAILY. It is delicious and amazing and every other awesome adjective known to man.

After we head out we notice they have their tree lit. Huge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Later in the week I start feeling rotten. I decide I need to lay down and Loopz needs to lay with me. She's okay for the first few minutes.

Daddy get out of here we're napping.

The next few days I start feeling worse and worse. Tuesday I get some gorgeous birthday flowers from Charlotte and Harry York-Mcdougall-Goldenbladt. They were wayyyyyyyy super the pretty but I felt like buns and didn't get to take any pictures. Sorry guys, they were muchly appreciated though. XOXO At some point on Wednesday I send Ged out to get me some chicken broth and sprite to settle my stomach. Look at the temperature people. Almost 80 degrees the day before Thanksgiving!!!!!

I spend most of Wednesday and Thursday like this - *sadface*

Mama, can you uh. Wake up and make the red dot appear again. KTHXBAI!

We spend most of Thanksgiving watching the parade and movies. What movie is this from?

Or reading. This is a very good book actually.

By late Thursday evening I'm feeling a little better. I also decide I need some fresh air. So we get in the car. How did this happen btw?

We go to laugh at these poor assholes who are in line at best buy at 9pm Thanksgiving evening.

When we get home we decide that since we missed out on Turkey we'd make some now. Hardie har har.

Saturday we decide to do some shopping. Ged is hungry though. So we stop at his favorite place and he tries something new. Mac & Cheese Bites. ZOMG. Fried Macaroni and Cheese.

Big pimpin. Mike - 3 spokes on the S2000? Think about it.

Thats about it guys! Hope you all are well and we'll see you in about 3 weeks!

PEACE, LOVE AND SUNSHINEEEEEEEEEE!!!

13th-Nov-2007 10:41 am - Mobile Week # 12, # 13 and # 14
Yes, we know. We've been slacking. But here I am to make amends. I bring you the super 3 week compendium. Weeks 12, 13 and 14 including our trip home and the wedding. Hope you guys enjoy! So lets go a few weeks back. Almost a month ago now.

Yes our windows are still open, the cats are enjoying it immensely.

While we were out on one of our trips around town we come across this fly piece of machinery. Yeah, check it out bebeh!

Ged finds much lulz.

That Friday we're off to the Movie Theater!!!

What are we watching with these stupid glasses on?

The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D. IT WAS RAAAADDDDDDDDD!!!!!! Oh and apparently 3D are not recommended for sunglasses. ORLY?

That Saturday we're out and about again.

I thought these clouds were way pretty.

We're off to pick up my bridesmaid dress from the seamstress. Like usual the po-lice are busting people down.

Sir I believe you're missing something here.

It says size matters. Hyuck! Hyuck! Redneck.

While we're out on this side of town we just have to stop at...

Krispy Kreme!!!!!!!!

Chomp!

Check these babies out...

This made me laugh.

Oh and is it bad luck if you drive under a billboard? Sort of like walking under a ladder?

More hoopdies! Gots to have the fly rims tho yo!

We're headed to Fresh Market! Its sort of like the souths version of Whole Foods I think.

Dad they had Vernors!

When we come out its one of the prettier sunsets I've seen here.

After that we head on over to Olive Garden. This is what we usually get.

It was yucky and the service was horrible. We console ourselves with kitty lovings.

I head to bed but Ged can't sleep. He plays online while Monkey hangs out on her favorite perch.

The next morning its breakfast time because we're headed out. Where for breakfast? Pssh, Sonic...again! We make lovey faces while we wait.

Then we see two guys standing at the drive up.

Ged finds this more than humorous.

Ged loves the Super Southwest Breakfast Burrito!

We're headed to the outlet mall down in Foley. We pass some interesting sights. They love them some Cash Advance places down here. They're everywhere.

What an interesting combination. Paintball, surfing AND car audio?

Made it!!!!

Hi Lady!

There are a ton of stores. A Le Creuset even and I am in heaven but alas, everything costs a fortune. This is the funniest shop of the trip.

Yeah because Christmas and Weapons sooooooooo go together. Oh yeah, I forget where I am. We pop into the bookstore and find this gem. They call the local beaches the Redneck Riviera. Funny funny.

Look at those rims!!!!

We go home and I make some of my favorite Chicken Noodle Soup.

I can has some?

At some point that weekend we got a Wii! So we spent the remainder of the week playing Wii...

and a little bit of Sims.

How do they get comfortable like this?

Later that weekend I make some Salmon and Lentils. I was not a fan. But monkey was enthralled!

WANT!

MINE!

How cute is this btw. For all of you who think Nemo is a bump on a log. MYTHBUSTED!!!!

Because its Sushi Saturday - yes we're making a weekly habit of it. We're having a hard time keeping it to once a week so hush up.

They have the worst fortune cookies ever. Did you know 100% of fortunes are identical?

Lookie lookie mom!

We spend the next few days working and packing. Wednesday morning we're at the airport!

Ready to head home but the plane is late. We're an hour or so delayed leaving mobile. See - no plane.

Finally we board and we're ready to go.

Taking off.

Finally in the air. I really like this picture btw.

Goodbye MOBILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We fly over Atlanta. I told D I would wave to her as I flew over. HI DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!

Coming in to Atlanta.

We miss our connecting flight and we are angry. Now we've got a 2 or 3 hour window until the next flight. We get some dinner and some magazines to kill the time.

Pretty sunset in Atlanta though. We board soon after and don't take any pictures after that. Its dark and when we land I'm so excited to be home I forget all about the camera.

We are greeted at home by Ged's parents who have been graciously watching the house for us while we're away. We have a great visit and do early birthday stuff. We crash and sleep like we haven't slept in ages. I really missed my own bed. The next morning we're up and out early. We've got a ton of errands to run. First stop I manage to snag some photos of the foliage thats still turning.

Our fly rental car. Whats up Accord!!!

We run a million errands that day. Haircuts, I got a new license, a few stops at the stores, the bank, etc. Busy busy. Later that night we have my parents and brother over for a visit to do birthday stuff. Again it was soooooooo much fun and I miss you guys already. After they head out I head up to Katie's Bachelorette Party.

The Maid of Honor!

The bride hittin' the Sex on the Beach hard.

PENIS STRAWS!!!!!!!!!!

The girls out at the bar!

Early the next morning we run some more errands and I head off to the nail salon to get my nails done with the rest of the girls for the wedding. Here's the bride, cool as a cucumber, waiting to get her toesies painted.

Mike stops over later in the day to hang out. It was good to see him and sad we didn't get to see Sarah but we were running crazy anyways. Later that night we head off to the church to do wedding stuff.

They got married in our childhood church. St. Stanislaus. Isn't it pretty?

After that we go to the rehearsal dinner. The food was very good but all the running started to catch up to me and I started feeling sick. We headed home and went to bed to get some rest before the big day. The next morning we woke up and it had snowed that night.

I left the camera with Ged who was busy with more errands. I met up with the girls to get our hair done, get ready and take pictures. We get to the church for the wedding!!!!!

This is blurry but thats me and the groomsman I walked with.

The beautiful bride and her father walking down the aisle.

Exchanging vows.

Ceremony over, giving my mom a hug on the way out.

Hi guys!

Walking in to the reception.

Mr & Mrs Jason Mendonca!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Their first dance.

One of their wedding favors.

Father Daughter Dance

Mother and Son Dance

What Ged and I spent most of the night drinking. I love Octoberfest.

Dollar Dance.

At that point our camera died. Of course we didn't pack the battery charger. Stupid us. So after that we party all night, head home, go to bed, wake up, clean up the house and head back to the airport. It was so sad going back to Alabama. Ged practically had to drag me onto the plane. We make it back without delays. Got back, found monkey in this state...

Where you been? I are depressed when you go away! Thats pretty much it! A hugeeeeeeeeeee recap but its all there. See you guys next week!

PEACE, LOVE AND SUSHI!!!!!

15th-Oct-2007 10:24 am - Mobile Week # 11
So we're almost there. We're officially 2 and a half weeks from going home for Katie & Jay's wedding. We're also 106 days, 21 hours, 58 minutes and some odd seconds from going home for good but who's counting. We had a nice week this week. Wasn't bad at all actually. Well except this first part.

To say Ged likes bad TV is an understatement. He made me watch several episodes of Dog the Bounty Hunter. Its such a dumb show but he loves it.

We are not amused. Monkey the least so. But she makes a cute pirate no? Yarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

Because we're like kids on crack, Wednesday we go back out for sush to Stix!!!

It was really really good. We decide we're addicted. Not only that but we go out for it again on Saturday night too.

Fortune - lol!!!

Then we give each other fishy kisses. lol.

On the way home we see this huge ass bus/motor home. Ged made me take a picture of the HP.

Thursday morning we catch a sunrise. We were running a little late. Usually we're earlier so we're in work by the time the sun comes up. They're this red on most days. Pretty no?

Okay I had to throw this one in for good measure. Whar be muh grog wench!!!

Saturday morning we're up and at it. Finally a cool wave has moved in. This is at maybe 8am in the shade. By noon its back up in the 80s though. Oh well.

We head to Sonic for some morning eats. We've got a big day ahead of us. Ged's super sonic breakfast burrito:

My Bacon Egg and Cheese Burrito + tots and drinks. We weren't a fan of this round of beverages. Not all 168,000 can be winners.

Some pic's from the road -- BUSTED!!

I don't think that writing in tape should be classified as "okay"

An abandoned refinery. I wish I could get in there to take some pictures. I'm sure there are a lot of cool shots but I'd rather not get radiation poisoning or something.

A not abandoned refinery.

Something tells me this part of 'ol bama isn't what people have in mind when they think of snow-birding...

As we get closer a lot of this area is swamp.

We're headed out to Dauphin Island!

In our "Weird Alabama" book it says that Fort Pickens is haunted. We love forts anyway so we thought this might make a fun trip.

So instead of explaining everything I'll just show you some of my favorite pictures from the fort.

Okay this one probably needs a little explanation. This was the latrine. Everybody went together. Gross in and of itself. But the tide washed in once a day and cleaned out the "toilets". Double gross. I'd hate to be the guy who decided to take a swim then. Yuck. Ged wouldn't sit on it. So I had to take one for the team and sit my tushie where hundreds of civil war era dudes had their butts. lol.

This place, according to my book is supposed to be haunted. Did I catch something?

Nope, just Ged being inconsiderate and walking in front of the camera. lol. Anywhoo, can you see the problem with this sentence? I hope so.

Maybe they lost the fort for their lack of craftsmanship. Perhaps? Perchance?

Oh btw, just for the hahas.

The coastline would have been a beautiful sight but there were at least 11 of these rigs off in the distance. Kinda kills the mood I feel.

After that we heard about an Audubon walking trail down the street so we head there next.

Again I'll just lump most of the pictures together.

These are the only birds we saw:

HI LADY!

Plus I got bit in the neck by something. BOOOOO!!!!!

On the way home we see this:

This house was hugeeeeeeeee!

Brad & Nik LOOK!!!! Its not a silly slogan but Bro. Kieth will hold it down. Reppin' tha revival, word.

After that we head into downtown Mobile to check out the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception.

It was pretty but there were no candles to light, sorry mom. We make sad faces about it but not for long cuz we're starving. We decide to try out Felix's Fish Camp.

We tried their po boys. They aren't as good as the ones at flounders. Plus they were huge and cut the inside of my mouth. :(

After that we went home and went out to dinner. Sunday we did stuff around the house, did some laundry, got groceries. Usual Sunday stuff. Well thats it for this week guys. From all of us here in Mobile...

PEACE, LOVE AND DAMN THE TORPEDOS!!!! YARRRRRR!!!!

8th-Oct-2007 05:40 pm - Mobile Week # 10
Hi Guys! Another week down and we're into the double digits finally. We're getting close to being halfway there at least. Friday we forgot the camera but we went to lunch at this great Sushi place. It was awesome. We'll definitely be going back so we'll just take pictures next time we go. Saturday we got up late and headed to lunch. To Sonic derrrr.

While we wait for our food we take pictures of ourselves.

Ged got this shirt for the project we're working on.

Burgers...

Hey Napoleon...gimme soma yer tots.

Oh and another of their 168,000 drink options. Ged was lame was traditional (whatever that means) and got a regular Barq's. I got a Cherry Vanilla Diet Coke. It was teh yummy.

Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Back on the road.

The clouds are looking ominous but pretty.

We're goin to the fleamarket down in Pensacola!

Katie look its like a knockoff bag wonderland.

We ended up getting a few little things, mostly stuff we found in dollar bins and such. There were a lot of people with tagsale stuff. We did see a really cool buddah but it would have been a zillion dollars to ship back cuz it weighed 50 lbs. So we headed back. More pretty clouds.

I love watching it rain far away.

Once we get home we decide to go to dinner. Yummy cosmo's.

While we wait for our dinner we make cute faces...again. Yeah we do this too much I think.

Not long after that we go home and make a grocery list. First we need to get some new wiper blades. Since I've sworn off Wal-Mart we go to O'Reiley's. It brings much lolz.

Sunday we hung out, cleaned, did laundry, and took pictures of the kitties.

So I guess thats it guys! We come home in 3 and a half weeks!!! We'll see you guys soon!

Peace, Love and TEH SONIC!!!!

3rd-Oct-2007 08:50 am - Mobile Week # 9
Sorry this is late guys. This week is going by quickly, I didn't even realize it was already Wednesday. So as most of you know by now, Ged went home last week. Yeah...home home. Here are some pictures he took along the way that made me weep.

Mountains...how I miss you.

Its the ZOMG TEH BERKSHIRES sign. :(

The yard is looking pretty good. Ged had a ton of meetings and saw a lot of people. He flew in Friday morning and we took a nap. When we got up we weren't really in the mood for dinner so what did we have?

Marble Slab dude.

This was the Willy Wonka Ice Cream. Basically Triple Chocolate Ice Cream, Chocolate Chips and Hot Fudge in a dark chocolate waffle bowl.

Ged got Raspberry Cheesecake Ice Cream. Cheesecake Ice Cream with fresh rapberries and graham crackers crubled in all in a white chocolate waffle bowl. They were yummy. After that we went home and went back to bed. lol. We were really tired. The next morning we were up and at it again.

Where we goin Ged? THE BEACH...UH-GAIN!!!!!

We've been trying to take this picture since the first time we went to the beach. Yeah thats a confederate flag second from the left. In front of the CIVIC CENTER. Which is a PUBLIC BUILDING!!!!! We are shocked and dismayed.

I don't know if you can see it but this guy was walking around pulling shrimp out of the water. Pretty neat I feel. The all of a sudden we smell bacon. Wait... Are our pores starting to seep bacon smell? Where could it be coming from?

This guy in front of us is towing a grill. Not only that but its cooking already. There is smoke coming out of it.

Only in the south dude. Gotta preheat that bitch at home!!!!!

Comin up over the bridge. Oh and notice how gross the windshield is. Thats love-bug guts. These things mate in mid air in literal swarms. You drive thru them and they splatter all over the windshield. Not only that but they're made of glue and if you don't wash them off relatively quickly (like in a day or two) it won't come off...ever. Not to mention they are man made little things that were intended to eat the mosquitos. THANKS SCIENCE!!!!!

Made it to Pensacola Beach. Oh and make special note of that Corvette in front of us...with no plates.

I really don't ever get sick of palm trees.

So this guy in a corvette blew by us on the bridge. Not only that but like at least 37% of Alabama residents he has no tags on the car. BUSTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Made it to the beach!!!!

But its looking dirty, the water is more shallow than usual and there are a bunch of drunk assholes screaming. We decides its worth the 20 minute drive to head up to Navarre so we leave.

and we make BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO faces about Pensacola Beach. On the way there what we hadn't thought about was how hungry we were. PULL OVER!!!!!

Because there is a Sonic. YAY!!! Oh and if any of you doubt the awesomeness of Sonic look at the menu and realize that we haven't eaten anything bad here.

These would be right up your alley Katie.

Jay - you're the only person who would appreciate this as much as Ged. Mostly because you're cheap as shit a frugal fran too. $2.99 for these suckers and they're HUGE!

So we made it to the beach and Ged yells TAKE A PICTURE OF THE FERRARI!!!!!

Okay Ged what have we learned. Yeah that the sun is the devil thats right. Who are our friends?

SPF 50 and an umbr-ella-ella-ella eh-eh-eh. Thats right.

MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Better. Clean and clear. Just how a beach should be.

We do trade drunk dudes for old fishermen though. Im always worried I'll be floating around and get snagged with a hook. Jerks.

We have fun though and made some birdie friends. Seagull-loaf. lol After a few hours the sun is getting low and we're getting hungry again so we head back to Pensacola Beach for dinner at Flounders. UH-GAIN!!!

While we wait for a table Ged plays bejeweled. He's totally hooked.

Yay! We get a table on the deck.

We take pictures of eachother to see if we're sunburned. We're not. But as most of you know...you never give Ged the camera. Mostly because he does...this.

Takes silly pictures that aren't of anything. Oye. So we have dinner and head home. Sitting out in the sun all day hath made us sleepy so we go to bed. The next day we do some shopping.

and make wishes in the fountain.

When we get home we make Nemo take Gangsta pix. BALLIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And monkey sleepin on her head. lol.

Okay guys, thats it for us this week. We didnt take any pictures of us together this time so we'll end it with MY HIGHER bejeweled score. Whoot!

PEACE, LOVE AND A MILLION POINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Missy
24th-Sep-2007 01:43 pm - Mobile Week # 8
Hey guys! So after last weeks rest week we were off and running again this week. We saw this while we were out and about. Oh you silly silly rednecks.

We had some issue with the blackberries so we got to switch them for Palms. Mine isn't in yet but Ged got his and selfishly played with it at dinner.

Where did we go? Yeah, we went to Olive Garden again. I swear we live there.

Seriously, if you haven't tried the Chicken Gnocchi Veronese you need to because its awesome. Ged gets it every time.

Meanwhile I'm totally hooked on their Portobello Ravioli. Its the sauce. Smoked cheese and sun dried tomatoes? Next time I'm going to try to talk them into putting that sauce on gnocchi. Pssh, I'd be in heaven.

So Friday we got out of work around lunchtime. We ran some errands and went to dinner at O'Charleys.

The food was sucky but I swear I may weep when we get home for the lack of sweet tea.

The rolls were good. Mom you agree with this one?

The food was AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are not happy about paying for such a crappy meal.

George check out these tractors!!!

We go shopping because I need a dress/shoes for Katie & Jays rehearsal/dinner. I try these on but do not like. They were kinda cute with jeans but they were too big and they didn't have my size. I eventually find the perfect dress and shoes.

This is the top of the dress.

These are the shoes but I don't think I'm going to wear nylons.

Oh and I forgot to mention that I fell on Friday. I was trying to be wonderwoman and slipped and cut my back and bruised my knee. The cut is maybe 6 inches long. Not cool yo. It still hurts.

Saturday morning we get up and play around online for a while. We're watching the travel chanel and it has something on about bigfoot. They talk about the Texas Bigfoot Research Conservatory and we laugh. Surely there can't be such a thing so we go to the internetz to find out. Surely enough there is such a thing and they're having a confrence. LAWLZ!!!!

Finally we shower, get dressed and to go breakfast. We love teh IHOP.

We're on our way to the mobile flea market. It was the sketchiest place ever. They had tons of animals for sale. Ducks and Geese and Turkeys and Chickens and Pigs and Birds...

These were fake but they had real ones. I was too scared to take pictures of the real gun peddlars though.

I did get a picture of these though while some guy was busy with another customer. Are you for real? Hand grenades? At the fleamarket?

They had a ton of these trippy spirally jesus and mary pictures.

Seriously, who is buying panties at the flea market. I need to know.

Or wigs for that matter.

They had tons and tons of puppies.

BOXER PUPPIES DAD!!!!!!!!!!!

So I pick up a really nice cast iron skillet and some honey from a beekeeperguy. After that we hightail it outa there. There was an 8 year old selling tazers. Big huge ones like the cops use. Not to mention that he kept making it arc. It was not cool. I would have also taken a picture of him but I was askeered of the tazer. Freaks. You pass this on the way into the fleamarket.

This is Ged's "We Could Have Just Been Murdered By People of The Corn" face.

and I am sad that it sucked so hard. There's another one down in Santa Rosa that should be better than this one. So next time we go to the beack we'll go there.

Because when I think of awesome gardening vehicles, a tracker comes to mind. hehe.

We get home and we have MAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ged's mom sent us a care package earlier in the week with some magazines and some pez. We were so excited that we ripped it open and devoured it without getting a picture. THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!! Saturday we get a letter from D! Yay!!!!! It was an awesome letter and cheered me up bunches. Plus isn't the wax thing cool?

I take stupid mirror pictures of my new hat that I bought the night before. I'm waiting for Ged goes to the bathroom so we can go to the market.

We stop at the farmstand to check it out and complete one of my 101 in 1001 tasks. We got some yummy looking tomatoes and a pomegranate. I love pomegranate.

Look what we found at the market in the freezer section. Microwavable monkey bread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After that we go to the movies to see Good Luck Chuck. Whats with the pissy face you ask?

Ged's been playing bejeweled since he got the phone and is ignoring me. Meanie.

After that its late. We go and get some pizza and go home. Sunday morning we get up early and go to get my dress fitted for Katies wedding. I go to David's Bridal which is about 40 minutes away from our apartment just to have them say "Sorry, if you didn't buy it at David's Bridal we can't alter it." I yell at them and storm out in a huff. I make faces like this.

So we have lunch at McAlisters - it's really good. Its a grinder place. Aparently they have "Famous Sweet Tea". I find it to be mediocre. Their sandwiches are far superior though.

So I make cute faces at Ged while we wait for our food to get delivered to our table.

So thats it kiddies. See you next week!

PEACE LOVE AND BIGFOOT!

17th-Sep-2007 09:45 am - Mobile Week # 7
Alright guys, this week was probably our most uneventful yet. We figured "Hey, Tropical Storm Humberto is rolling thru. Why don't we just spend the weekend inside. Rest and avoid the rain." Great idea we thought. Yeah until the weekend actually got here and it was sunny and warm. Stupid weathermen. So we decided to recoup anyway and just hung out at home. We do have a few pictures but this will probably be our shortest week yet.

This was all we saw of Humberto...and this was Thursday.

I swear Nala has never been so sleepy.

Looks like I'm not the only one who's depressed eh?

Ged is sad. No mail. Send us some love people, we're dyin' down here.

Pretty puppy.

We went out to dinner at the best Olive Garden in the world. I swear these people throw breadsticks at you and they brought Ged two sodas just in case he ran out. Not only that but I swear they make their food with love. You can just taste it.

Uh Oh MOM!!!!! Gaterz!!!!

So thats pretty much it. We played games and hung out on the couch. With Loopie of course.

See you next week. No more pictures plz. Let monkey sleep.

Hi Guys! So this was a relatively quiet week. After last week it was nice to have a low key relaxing weekend. Hope you guys enjoy!

Since the weeks are so very hectic we pretty much hang out at night, play on the computer and watch TV. This week we watched the Republican Debates.

Hey its Mitt Romney. Reppin the Commonwealth. Turns out he's an idiot.

Yeah you heard me dude, don't give me that look.

So I give him my "Bullshit..." face.

Ged does too

I grow tired of hearing about revoking Roe vs. Wade so I take pictures of the kitties instead.

Skip forward to Saturday and we're out and about again. Check out Ged being uber cool on teh bluetooth.

and me being generally lame

Anyway, so we fill up the car.

So that we can head to Florida.

Getting close, we're crossing the bridge thats undergoing major major construction.

Bridge pieces floating on a barge.

Nearer still, we're coming over the big bridge.

Gulf Breeze Parkway, finally.

Where are we going Ged?

Navarre Beach!

We made it! Finally!!!!

We get settled and have some lunch. The tide is at red. The highest. Great. It looks pretty though.

Hiya Guys!

Love the sand here. Feels nice on your toesies.

We figured out the video option on the camera and took a little video of the coolest little birdie running around. Check out his little legs goin.

Big waves, oh and yours truly looking like I'm waiting for a bus.

Yeah thats more like it - gettin slammed by waves.

This tool was fishing in the huge waves. Dumbass. You think he caught anything? No.

Check out Ged yo.

Wham!

Rawr. All he needs is silly music and a slow motion camera.

We also take some video of the beach.

So we spend a while in the sun and realize we're getting a little too hot and its getting late. We get in the car and assess the damage. Oh noes sunburn!!!!!!!!!! PWND!!!!!

Clearly SPF 15 is not enough. So we're headed home. Oh I forgot Florida is the home of the Blue Angels. Check out what they have at the welcome center.

We got home and and ordered Dominos. The Oreo pizza...really really bad. Gross

We were going to take a picture today to say goodbye but we're horribly horribly sunburned. Not cute. What did we learn this week? SPF 50 and an umbrella are your friends. Fo sho. So in closing, instead of our usual goodbye shot we're gonna end with this. See you guys next week!

Peace, Love and SPF!!!

So I know this is way way way late but this past weekend was a long weekend and we went on a road trip. We didn't get home until Monday and I had to wean the 600 pictures we took down to what you see below. It was a lot of fun and I can't wait for you guys to see!!!! Yay!

So since we were road trippin', we got up early-ish Saturday morning, loaded up the car and headed out to breakfast. Where you ask? Pfft, Sonic of course. However we are not looking forward to the hours and hours of driving over the next 3 days. So we made sad faces.

Then we head out on the road. We're on our way to Danette and Jim's in the Atlanta area. We pass a bunch of stuff on the way. Holy Hyundai motherland.

Is this like a portal to another dimension? Perhaps its a shorter route to where you want to be. We are angered by this town as a stop on the highway because come on...Who doesn't want the Shorter route to their destination?

HI LADY!!!!

Finally we're getting nearby! Atlanta!

So we get there and spend all our time chatting instead of taking pictures. We did manage to get a few before we left though. Jim, Lorna and Danette.

Ged and Lorna love kitteh.

Especially teh Lorna.

Now seriously. Jim and Danette are so cute and are the coolest people evar. See?

She's gonna kill me for posting this one lol.

I take pictures of you taking pictures of me so there!!!

Lorna is tiny and full of energy. This is still blurry but its about as still as she gets.

See? I wish I had that much energy for like 5 minutes a day.

Now teh money shot. Danette has a super rad camera and it takes much better pictures than mine so here is the best one between both our cameras of she and I.

I miss those guys already. :( But we were back on the road and headed to the hotel in downtown Atlanta so we could get up early and go the Georgia Aquarium. Yay.

Jelly Fishes!

Moon Jellyfish. They glowed in the dark.

Look out, its a bird, its a plane. Nope, its Scuba Steve cleaning fish poop. Gross.

This was lame - They must have worked some deal with apple to get a donation cuz all the nameplates had ipods on. Dumb.

The rays are always one of my favorites.

Plus I got to pet them whoot!

Now this aquarium is supposed to be the largest in the world. It didn't quite feel like it but it definitely had the largest viewing area I've ever seen. This is their ocean life tank. It had this huge 65 foot (I think) wall of glass. The men at the bottom of the shot are as tall as Ged.

Plus they had 4 whale sharks inside. They were beautiful but not nearly as big as I'd seen on the Discovery Chanel.

That they shipped UPS to the aquarium. Strange no? Sir can you sign for this? Oh what is it? Just a whale shark, no big deal.

These fish were huge. That and they stayed in one place and stared at you. I felt like I was being stalked.

That was bad because they're much bigger than they look. They were HUGE!

Some otter that reminded us of Funky Dunk.

We did the 4D theater and got these fly glasses. I R 2 SEKSI!

Plus we took a picture in front of the fake iceberg thing on our way into the Arctic Fish section.

Where we found the beluga whales. So pretty and they look like they're smiling.

It was getting pretty crowded and kids were so excited about the fishies they lost any manners they might have had and started a pushing frenzy toward the glass. Any and all glass for that matter. It was time to high tail it outa there plus we were on our way to see Jennifer & Jim so we needed to hit the road. While waiting at the stoplight what did we see? A BOXER PUPPY!!!!!! Dad, isn't he cute???

On the way back to the highway I thought this was a cool shot.

More driving = sad Ged.

THIS IS SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!nburg

So finally we made it to Greenville! Hi Jenny!

Greenville is quite pretty actually. They had all kinds of cool little stuff to see.

So Jenny tells us that they've got these little guys (mice) hidden all over town. On the sidewalk, on credenzas, etc for people to find. Cool huh?

While we were there they had some big bike race going on.

Dude shouldn't you be, ya know? Pedaling?

We went to lunch at one of my favorite places evar - Sticky Fingers!

It was goooooooooood!!!

For those of you who don't know or couldn't pick up the resemblance - Jenny is Geds sister. Ain't she pretty?

and this is Jim. Hi Jim!

But we needed to head out - see you at thanksgiving Jenny & Jim!!! We were on our way to see Brad & Nicole in Chapel Hill yay! So we're back on the road. Then we saw these poor guys. :( Baby pigs!

After this the camera dies. Sadness and woe. We had a good time in Chapel Hill. We went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner which was delicious and had the hugest salad I've ever seen in my life. If I had my bathing suit I could have swam in it. Thats how huge it was. The cheesecake was delicious too. The company infinitely better than the cheesecake, as always. We don't get any pictures of Brad and Nicole because the camera is at their apartment charging but we've got a zillion so for good measure. So this is them.

So we pick back up with photos on the 12 hour drive home. Yucko. Check out this hoopdee. Nice cracked bumper and your wing is taller than your whole car. I think Ged laughed for an hour about this one.

L O L!

The giant peach!

Then a million miles of these signs. Combo peaches and fireworks...wtf? We did stop and get some peaches and peach cider. Both were delicious.

BMW headquarters. Ged wept because we couldn't stop.

Yeah we only saw a zillion of these things. Im so sick of flags on car doors I could cry. Clemson whooooooooooooooooo! Whatev.

Now this idiot is wearing shorts, a sleeveless shirt, no helmet and flip flops. On the highway. On a motorcycle. We decide he is the dumbest guy we've seen yet.

Just in case you were wondering...shits creek is in North Carolina. Yup. This water was so brown and murky it was gross.

A cool bridge in South Carolina

Coming thru Atlanta, you don't see that every day. PULL UP DUDE! PULLLLLLLLLLLL UPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!

We stop at some applebees outside of Atlanta and Ged is not amused. But he's hungry and he's been driving for days, cut the guy some slack.

Not to mention it was a cop-fest. We must have seen at least 50 cops pulling people over on the trip.

So as we're starting to head out of Georgia and into Alabama the sun is setting and its pretty so I take pictures of the sky.

I really like this picture.

We got home about 11:30 or 12 and went to bed. We were exhausted and sick of driving but we were feeling refreshed and renewed in that we got to see friends and family. It was a haul but in the end it was worth it. We love and miss you guys. Thank you to everybody that let us crash at their pad, showed us the sights and took some time out of their day to hang with us for a while. We really appreciate it and we wish we could have stayed much much longer. So thats it for last week. See you all in a few days with this weeks update!

Peace, Love and Hushpuppies!!!

26th-Aug-2007 06:33 pm - Mobile Week # 4
So we've been here almost a full month now. Things are begrudgingly starting to become routine. We're starting to settle in and really get our bearings. We're still counting down the days but the good part about things becoming routine is that the parts we don't like are also becoming routine. We're just not noticing them quite as much. Sadly, we still have our run ins. I got my eyebrows waxed this morning and there were two small children in the salon. They were probably 2 and 5 years old. The younger one asks me my name and then says in garbled small child speak "Whurrrrr's yer truck?" I explained to him that I drive a car and that its a smaller version of a truck. So he looks at me bewildered and says "But......Whurrrrr's yer truck?" So the older child ambles over and says "Hi! My name is Hannah." I reply "Hi Hannah. I'm Missy. How are you?" So she tilts her head and says "Whur's yer truck?" So I re-explain the car premise and she gives me a look of confusion. She replies "Well why would ya do that? You's s'posed ta have a truck...Everybody knows that." Then she bounds off to destroy a shampoo display. So that was interesting. I was socially reprimanded by a 5 year old. Rad. So without further ado, here's this week!

This week was hectic. I was out inventorying for 3 solid days in the heat and we pretty much came home to eat dinner and go to bed. So the photos don't start until Friday when we got out of work early and decided to go see Superbad. Ged is muyplussed that we're out early.

But, the movie didn't start til 1:30 and it was 11:30. So we went to to lunch and played around at Books-a-Million. This gave us the hahas.

So we get there and this is the outside. Looks like a visual representation of an actual Rave no? So as it turns out their credit card machine was down. We didn't have cash but offered to go to the ATM. She said to go in for free as it was their fault. R-A-D!!!

It was cool stadium seating and DLP. Nice. We immediately decide to go see movies all the time.

Katie, they still do trivia here. I was sad we couldn't do the questions together. :(

The movie was sooooooooooo funny. I want it on DVD yesterday.

So as it is Alabama in August there are holy shit thunderstorms in the afternoons. At nearly the end of the movie we lose power. They assure us that it'll be back up and running in no time so the girl in front of us decides to make a call. She calls some person and says "You're outa jail?....Who paid your bail?.....Yer mamma?....Was it alot?......Shoot is she mad?....Oh I know I'm on probation for underage drinking....So do you wanna party tonight or what?" If you've seen Lewis Black it was definitely a If it wasn't for my horse I wouldn't have spent that year in college moment for us. Ged was amused.

I was shocked and dismayed.

So we got home and I saw those things on the tree from a week ago have opened. It appears they make dried cranberries. So thats...interesting.

We went to Logans for dinner.

If you've never been there they give you peanuts.

Then you throw the shells on the floor. I don't know about you but I like a place that at least pretends its a clean and hygienic establishment. But whatever.

This should have been indication # 2 that this place would suck. Redneck decor. The food was not good at all and poor Ged got sick from it. Gross.

Saturday morning we're back on the road.

Jay check it out. It's like a fireworks mecca.

First stop. Bagdad. Thats right. We went to Bagdad. Not Baghdad. Bagdad, FL. Hardie har har.

Bombs over BAGGGHHHHDDDAAAADDDDD!!!!

We're headed back to the beach yay!!

Where we saw scuba Steve.

We decided this....THIS is our beach. The water is pretty and clear. The sand is really really white.

It's not at all touristy and it's actually pretty quiet and low key.

We wanted to walk to the edge of this peir but Katrina was a bitch and they haven't rebuilt it yet.

More feet in the water.

We're happy. The next free weekend we've got we're coming for the day and going swimming and sitting in the sun. Its supposed to cool down soon.

LOOK MOM!!! Seaweed!!!!!!!!!!

So we head back and there are some gorgeous houses down there. We went home and looked them up. You can't even get a condo down there for under $1.6 million.

Ged screams like a little girl when he sees a Porsche GT2.

We go to lunch and there is a pirate outside. He needs love.

Jenny, it's a good thing he didn't have an itchy eye hey?

Sunday morning we've got to run errands. We've got one important destination to go to first.

During the week Ged's dad mentioned that Grandma Allen's sister used to live in Mobile. We get the directions and drove by her old house.

Casa de Waddele. It would have been Ged's Great Aunt Edna.

HA-Ha's for this week.

So thats it! See y'all next week!

PEACE, LOVE and COCOA PUFFS!!
Missy
19th-Aug-2007 05:14 pm - Mobile Week # 3
So we're still bummed out but we've resigned ourselves to the inevitable. We've been out and about more this week. Going places and trying new restaurants. It's been alright. Still screaming hot but the word is its supposed to break soon. Hopefully they're right. We lucked out with Hurricane Dean, its headed for Mexico rather than our area. Hopefully this will be how the rest of Hurricane season goes and we won't have to worry about them at all. Cross your fingers. So without further ado.

We start the week off by taking silly pictures. This one is blurry but I think it looks kinda cool like that so here it is.

Oh, D. WTF are these things? Are they going to bloom and be rad or is this it?

Back in the car again and we're unhappy because Monday totally sucked.

Ged uses his triptronic face...

...to totally kick the shit out of our rental Mazda 3 that we still had. The car was due last week and still hadn't shown up. He was muchly displeased and took it out on the sad Mazda by rapidshifting the thing.

But where are we going?

Like any good fatkids we cheer ourselves up with Ihop. Don't judge us, m'mkay?

The parking lot plants in the south are much cooler than what we've got up north though.

If you've seen Lewis Black you'll get a kick out of this. HOTTLE OF COFFEE!!!! BRING ME SOME GOD DAMN PANCAKES!!!!

She must have read our minds.

Yum!

Ged got a particular kick out of this. Only in the south.

Finally on Wednesday the car shows up yayyyyyyyyyyyy!!!! On the way to get it, Ged tells me about a dream he had in which he was out in the yard and there was a huge rabbit. He went to pet it and it bit his hand and wouldn't let go. He was totally freaked out. He still is a little. You mention the word bunny right now and he gets this glazed over Post Traumatic Stress look in his eye. He said it did this to him:

Another shot on the way to go get the car. I thought these trees looked cool.

Car is here yayyyyyyyyyy!!!

So this weekend we heard about them having Jet Boat races down at Orange Beach. We hadn't been there yet and figured it'd be a good opportunity to go back to the beach, see the ocean, get the hell out of Dodge Mobile and see some rad jetboats. It's about an hour away from Daphne and of course it's hillbilly central on the way.

Almost there!

Its very flat down here...and straight. Ged was dreaming about Veyron's and how he could actually get them up to high speed on this stretch of road.

We start seeing Jetboats so we know we're on the right track.

We're here!!!

Seeing some jetboats - check!

There were helicopters following the boats filming. Perhaps for ESPN 8 "The Ocho"?

I was mostly psyched that we were back at the ocean again.

and got to put my feet in the water...again.

Ged was amped too.

Well that is until he got splashed up to his bellybutton by a wave. lol.

So we washed our feet off and headed to get some lunch. We passed the Miss Geico boat who evidently is the world champion. She's also very bright. My head still hurts from looking at it.

We are sad about how hot and humid it is. I'll take 65 degrees any day over 100+. May I never complain about snow again.

Just in case you were curious. Dad, you need to make alternate plans I guess. Sorry sir, we're all full up.

Something about the word Boys and Ranch evokes some strange thoughts. It sounds like a place a pedophile would go to hand pick his own boys. Yucky.

Ironically enough its down Dixie Rd, y'all. Makes me wanna buy an orange charger...Not.

Mom check it out! Cap'n Crunch!!!

I'm not sure you want to be purchasing any kind of seafood at an "Outlet"

So we stopped at a farmers market on the way back and found these local specialties. We didn't buy any. We did get a couple peaches that were really really good though.

I'm not sure what the hell Scuppernongs are but they looked pretty gross.

D, just so you know. Even little 9lb 5oz tiny infant baby Jesus is Lord.

Ged's automotive ha-has for the week:

I got stupid blisters :((((((((((((((((((

Now I saved the best for last. As we're pulling out of the farmers market this poor bastard got pulled over and arrested. PWNED!!!!

Say goodnight Monkey! ---WHA!!!!---

Thats it for this week everybody!!!

Peace, Love and Sweet Tea!!!
Mis & Ged
12th-Aug-2007 06:44 pm - Mobile Week # 2
This week we've been kinda bummin' about being here. We miss our families, we miss our friends, we miss our house, we miss...home. We'll be excited to come home in February but there will be a few things that we'll miss about the south when we come home and one of those things is the abundance of Strawberry Soda.

The kitties are finally getting settled in really well.

Oh, Shaun. Guess what we watched last Sunday?

It's been very hot which means I have lots of time to camwhore while Ged braves the heat at the ATM.

This is our drive to work for the most part:

This is where Ged works, mine is somewhat farther but I didn't take any pictures. It's a pretty ghetto area so I didn't bother. I do however drive by Africa Town which is where the very last shipment of slaves came into the United States. Grotesque and strange piece of history that I found out.

This is one of the cool tunnels that we drive thru to get to the west side of Mobile. Katie, this is where I keep losing your calls.

Ged is shocked about the traffic. No just kidding I caught him mid yawn like a kitty.

While we're waiting in traffic we take silly pictures.

On our way to Krispy Kreme!!!

Our drive home from work is similar but we get to see the ocean side of the bay.

I'm only including this picture because Ged said its the face he sees most often. My pfft face. lol.

It's Sunday and its weekend Trip Time!!! This weekend we're going to Pensacola Beach. Since we were bummin we figured a little ocean time might cheer us up.

There were some really pretty buildings.

And duh, the ocean.

We made it!!!

Yay, they have this really cool pier thing that people can walk out and jump into the deeper end of the fenced in swimming area.

Seagulls.

Ged love ocean.

We dangled our feet over the edge but we didn't reach.

Not very clear but who cares, its the ocean yo.

So we took a walk back to the beach and got our feet wet. The water had to be 85-90 degrees. Much too hot to be refreshing.

So we collected some sand for our colletion and decided to have some lunch. We saw some billboards for "The Flounder" on the way into town that looked good. It turned out to be one of the best meals we've had in a long time. Ged had a Shrimp Po Boy and I had a Grilled Fish Po Boy. Ged got batter dipped fries and I got Hush Puppies. Sooooooooooooo good. If I could eat it every day I would. It was absolutely delicious.

We were muchly happy. We've decided that when the weather cools off we're gonna go down there to swim and have lunch a few times.

This is the yummers restaurant.

On the way home the thunderstorms rolled in.

Then here we are. Okay I'm gonna end this baby with some humerous pictures we've taken over the past week.

See you guys next week.

Over and out!!
Missy
5th-Aug-2007 10:54 am - Mobile Week # 1
We started off the week with the flight.

Ged spent most of his time doing this.

I spent most of my time looking at this.

The cats were safely tucked away under the seats. Monkey cried a bunch but Nemo didn't make a peep. If they can't hear you they can't steal your SOUL!!!!

Our first views of Alabama. After the flight we got settled into our hotel and went to bed early. We'd been up since 2 am and we had to be to work early.

After work we experienced our first thunderstorm. We've never seen anything like it. When you look at the set of pictures below you'll notice the dots in the pictures. They're rain. Huge big fat rain. Then the lightening was so big and strong that it lasted for several seconds as it touched down. By the way that's the USS Alabama and the ocean beyond it.

While we weren't working we were trying to sleep and catch up on bills and paperwork. Plus we were looking for an apartment and I got a big time cold. So the pictures are pretty sparse.

Friday we moved into our new apartment and it was hot. Seriously hot. It made us look like this.

Mostly because this was the temperature and thats without heat index. Thank Baby Jesus for Air Conditioning.

We live down this street. D'Olive yo.

We see more of these than anything else. Wizaffle Hizouse.

Ged makes me take pictures of every vehicular hilarity we see.

We got a membership to Sams Club (Oh, Katie - Ged was muchly pleased that they DID still have Mt. Dew!!!) But they also had this grossness. EEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWW!!!

Why is Ged so happy?

We're going to Sonic!!!!!!

While we waited for our food we practiced our happy faces and mad faces in case the food was good or bad. First Mad.

Then Happy.

Ged was muchly pleased that Brian Spilner was also a fan of Sonic. He's TOO FAST, TOO FURIOUS!!!! Too fast fo y'all mannNNnn!!!!

Finally our food showed up. Look at this mother of a burger. It had fried jalapenos and double meat and cheese. I also think its got bacon. Good lawd.

Chomp.

Notice the shock on his face at how delicous it was. He loveeeeeeeeeeeed it.

This was my favorite thing. Orange Cream Slush. ZOMG it was sooooooooo good.

and it froze the straw. Rad.

Double fisting it. Ged lives on the edge and pushes limits.

YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!

So anyway, the cats are settled.

See you next week everybody!!!!
